The portraits of school graduates were shot at the Scarlet Sails («Алые паруса») celebration in 2014, which from the standpoint of today is considered to be a transitional year for modern Russia. T​he series focuses on an individual courses of its heroes through the prism of political changes in recent years.

The tradition when schools of Saint Petersburg gather on Palace Square to celebrate the graduation together is symbolically associated with the popular adventure novel Scarlet Sails by Alexander Grin, published in 1923.

Appeared in this piece as a symbol of fulfilling child's dream to be a grown-up and free from «​schools and rules​»​ the brigantine with scarlet sails has now become an emblem of transition to a new wishfully beautiful adult life.
