Andrey Chegin. City-Text

The album “City-Text" of the famous Russian photographer Andrey Chegin is the photographic epic work. The novel is imprinting, where the main character is the city. It's historical and mythological space, it's time and performance. This is the piece of post-modern discourse, where the artist`s reverence for the great city and lifes of its steadfast citizens was embodied.

It’s structured work, with an epigraph, The City by Touch (1991), and prologues, Phantom City (1992) and Trace (1995). Its body contains the novellae Neva Font (1994), Prism City (1994), Myth City (1994), Heavenly City (1995), Escher Space (1996), Cross City (1996), Shift (1996), Herd (1997), Transparent Dreams (1996-1997), Petersburg 2000 (2000) and From the Bucket (2003).
