For her, this kind of collage is like metaphorical maps: you take the material, you start connecting it on the sheet, and at some point your unconscious clings to an image you’ve accidentally caught. Elena Pavlova was born in 1976 in a small town-station Novomichurinsk, Ryazan region. Her early childhood was spent in the village with her grandmother, a witch doctor.
Carelessness, naturalness, Russian melancholy with its chthonic images and everyday magic formed contemplation and a special artistic and mystical vision of the artist.
