Description
Among the glorious masters who captured the tragic and glorious events of the Great War for posterity, one of the first places rightfully belongs to the outstanding master of photography Yevgeny Khaldey (1917-1997). Taking part in hostilities with a camera in hand is his true feat. He witnessed not only all 1418 days of the Great Patriotic War, but also attended the Postdam Conference of Allied Leaders, recorded the last chords of the war in the Far East and watched the unprecedented Nuremberg trial – the trial of Nazi criminals.
The album includes photographs of Yevgeny Khaldey related to the Great Patriotic War, and an introductory article by Andrei Tolstoy “The Artist at the War”.
