Description
“An artist who works with photography and video. I live and work in Moscow. Why do I do this, why do others do this? As an artist, I am interested in the reasons for the conscious and unconscious motives of people’s behavior in a society dominated by social and cultural attitudes and social stereotypes. An important concept in my works is the norm and its dual nature. In my projects I study social norms and their impact on individuals, society and the environment.”
I hate you too
“I met K., a girl whose childhood is considered difficult: an incomplete family, misunderstanding of relatives and peers. Her body is now covered in tattoos and perhaps even more so than the last time I saw her. I Hate You Too is a tattooed phrase that K wears on his forehead.
Faced with constant misunderstandings, it is difficult for a person to break out of the vicious circle of forced alienation. Dramatic external changes are one of the ways to compensate for internal conflict. The aggressive reaction of society to this difference gives impetus to a new transformation of the individual.
This series presents photographs in which I model situations of misunderstanding and distortion that arise in the relationship between a person, society and the inner world […].”
