In this project I address Lake Ladoga, the largest freshwater lake in Europe. A lake that can rightly be compared to the sea in terms of its size and wave regime. I would like to offer a new perspective on the place, even if this perspective is still too far away from us or too close to take seriously. I envision the lake as a large living entity, the knowledge of which is not limited to a mere human conception of a place.
The book utilizes archival photographs and documents. These include posthumous notices, as well as photographs of cadets who died in the barge wreck in Lake Ladoga.
