Description
The Soviet photobook of the 1920s-1930s occupies an important place in the history of book art of the 20th century; many outstanding designers and photographers took part in its creation. However, the post-war period has hardly been studied. This publication is the first attempt to present this publishing genre for the entire existence of the USSR. A selection of fifty photobooks covers various spheres of Soviet life and the stages of building a socialist state. Album “Photobook of the USSR” is addressed to a wide range of readers – photographers, designers, bibliographers, museum workers and everyone who is interested in book art and Russian history.
